Color in the backyard…

"O hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow's wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all.
The crows above the forest call;
Tomorrow they may form and go.
O hushed October morning mild,
Begin the hours of this day slow.
Make the day seem to us less brief.
Hearts not averse to being beguiled,
Beguile us in the way you know.
Release one leaf at break of day;
At noon release another leaf;
One from our trees, one far away."

-   Robert Frost, October

Sometimes the beauty of this time of year is nearly overwhelming but I would still like the day to seem “less brief”.

Gorgeous shots, love the ladybug, great capture there, and the birds nest! Ahhhh the signs of fall. Had our first rain of the season, it is promising to be a wet one this year but sadly no color changes, always appreciate seeing your photos to watch mother nature that way.

I understand that overwhelming beauty, having been surrounded by it for days now. There is just nothing like it!

The poem by Frost is just perfect to go with these images.

Beautiful photos, Gail! the ladybug was a surprise! We will sadly be losing most of our pretty autumn foliage with the hurricane winds tomorrow. Hope it doesn't effect your area too badly!
