La Parguera is on the Caribbean and we spent one entire day on and in the water. Just a short walk from the paradore we met our guide and climbed into kayaks for a morning of paddling through the mangroves. 
I videoed part of the trip while letting Mr O do all the paddling.
The rest of the day we snorkeled and at night we went swimming in a bio-luminescent bay…magical… but some things I just couldn’t photograph…
The next few days we spent in the southwestern seaside village of La Parguera. I was dubious about the hotel that had been booked for us but when we got there I immediately fell in love with it….
The Parador Villa Parguera is a paradore, or country inn, and is not fancy but is comfortable. This is what we saw from our room on the evening we arrived…

It is the kind of place families go to…
I won’t write about the food there though…There were some good things…like an octopus salad that was offered one evening…but in general the food was just ok.
The village itself was very quiet while we were there, in fact horses and chickens had the run of the roads……maybe it is busier during the weekend.
We walked a up and down the streets with the camera one evening…
I admit that I will never be a great photographer because I am too self-conscious when taking photos…There were several shots in this town I would have taken if it weren’t for being too uncomfortable. I am trying to work on that…
