St Kitts is the only island where we spent the entire day on land...touring the island. The tour guide we hired was very proud of his country and took us on a whirlwind tour which included historical sites, a botanical garden, unique geological formations, and lunch at an old sugar plantation...
Many photos I took from the van window...
Windmill remains...
Colorful houses...
The roadside stand where I bought a CD of a local reggae singer...Masud Sadiki...By the end of the week we were all in love with his music...
Caribelle Batik factory and botanical gardens...
Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park...
Black Rocks...Hardened lava formations...
Lunch at Ottley's Plantation...
...and another beautiful sunset...

Oh yes, how can you listen to that music and not move!!
These island look a lot less lush than I would have expected. Love the view from the cannon.
Wow Gail, what a wonderful trip! I just went through all your photos, and it truly seems like paradise!
The perfect music for the perfect vacation! Every time I see new photos, I have to sigh. What a wonderful, restorative place. I really never had a desire to go there, but now I think I'm over that. Too bad I don't know any sailors!
Yehhh! Will be rockin' to that music all day. Thanks for the smiles, and the glorious photos!
oh...you had such a wonderful time! love that last sunset too
Hi Gail
I'm listening to the music and grooving along with it. My son was a big reggae fan when he was young and lived at home, and I secretly grew to love it too.
Saint Kitts looks more homey and less touristy than some islands. I bet the local food was wonderful!
The view of expanse of blue sea from the fort's cliff is amazing!
oh honey, these are glorious!
xo
and such color used on the buildings...makes me so happy to get a dose of the beach here ...
Listening and bopping to Masud as I type.
The photo of the colorful houses I love. And the bougainvillea, so papery, and spot on color, great DOF.
The group photo is great, I love seeing you - you look sooo cute.
I want to go! And this music is perfect.
Oh my. That colorful houses image should be a postcard. I'd buy it. For sure.
