Easter 2010…

It seems that every year our holiday traditions have to change…This year I was fortunate to have both my daughters and their families as well as a niece and nephew here on an unseasonably warm Easter day.

…There are some old eggs and some new eggs decorating the tree…and lots of help hiding eggs…

There were only two children hunting for eggs…but they were VERY competitive…especially Mr J…If I had known how competitive he would be I believe I would have assigned them each different colors…

So much fun! I went to visit my mom in Virginia and stayed a few days. I think they really enjoyed having us there! We did the Easter egg hunt too!

The kids are so cute! We had a lovely day here at Easter as well. I'm still finding real Easter eggs in my front yard! Needless to say, I pick them up gingerly and toss them far into the woods!

I started giggling at your cute grandkids, then I giggled more at Susie's comment, because some of our layers lay eggs around the yard too, the rascals.

These two kids are precious. The last picture especially just moves me. I can hardly wait for our someday grandkids to have a hunt here on the farm - for eggs, or for morel mushrooms. :)

Your have such wonderful property for an egg hunt! Isn't it amazing how determined the grands can get to find them all? My older brother has 8 grandchildren and they all hunted for eggs in his backyard on Easter day ..total chaos as they ran around in circles. He used plastic eggs and each one had a number in it. They were allowed to open only one egg from the batch they found and whatever number it was they could then pick out a little toy that had that number. That worked out well and there were no fights. :-)
