Throughout the month of October I participated in Picture Fall, a photography workshop held by Tracey Clark, the founder of Shutter Sisters. Every day my inbox held a beautifully written assignment with accompanying photography tips. Every day I was inspired to take photos and share them at the online class site. Some days I liked what I did and some days I didn’t but I tried to submit something every day. I loved meeting other photographers of all levels and learned from each of them. I did find that extra encouragement very helpful. On the other hand I did find it very time consuming to take so many photos, edit them, upload them, and comment on other submitted photos. I haven’t taken many photos since the workshop ended…Burnout?
I may be crazy but I plan to participate in Picture the Holidays in December…

awww but the pictures are so wonderful absolutely wonderful! thank you for sharing and I cannot wait to see your holiday collage :-) happy day!
Dear Oliag, I'm so glad you did this workshop. I admire you for taking the time and putting energy into it. I have gotten lazy about photography. I think you are learning your manual settings too.
I love each of these photos. The leaf is rich, and those berries (choke?) are an almost hidden surprise. The texture of the tiles with lichen is wonderful. I love love love the trio of eggs in the morning light. What an evocative image! It speaks of home, warmth, happiness. Don't I love green eggs. And I have that towel in brown. :) The last image of the sampler makes me happy, and also sad. I love the sentiment in the statement. I love samplers, the best of homeyness. But it reminds me that I haven't been able to find the one my mother's stepmother made, that hung near our hearth in the last house, and I haven't found it since moving seven years ago. She sewed it, and its twin, when she was pregnant for her only child, who was stillborn. I never connected much with her, but this has always been a tender spot.
See what good photographs evoke?
Oh, my. Just simply gorgeous. I didn't even see the berries until I looked after reading Ruthie's comment. The eggs in that soft shadowy light are so pretty, even though they remind me that mine haven't laid a single one in a month or more. My favorite is that sampler....perfect lighting...just wonderful.
WONDERFUL collage, Oliag! I'm inspired by everyone who does these challenges and workshops. I always thing of joining one, but always seem not to have the time so end up doing things on my own... LOL! I just LOVE that embroidered sampler in the last photo--great motto for life. :o) We travel to the US on Friday to be with family for Thanksgiving and celebrate birthdays--very excited! TONS to do, though... LOL! I hope to post/visit more before we leave. Happy Days, my friend ((HUGS))
Your mosaic is incredibly beautiful. I love it. And, such a perfect representation of a month in your life. I think it would be wonderful if you'd do it every month for a year. Wouldn't that make a terrific calendar for gifts next Christmas? And use the mosaic form? It would be wonderful, I tell you.
Splendid images! Love the mosaic, it shows how focused you were on the project. I've given thought to joining one of Tracey's courses, but never followed through. I think I'm going to sign up for Picture the Holidays, I can sure use some help with my photography!
Just love that egg tree pic. The blue egg!!!.... always wanted hens around here that lay blue eggs.
Umm. that's egg trio. *sigh*
i love that you participated in this! love it!

these photos are great. sounds like you really enjoyed it!
I'm sure it's a lot of work but look at all you've learned! I wish I had the time and determination to join in. I love all your photos. masterpieces take time to produce!
not crazy at all....just in love with photography :)
I love the mosaic of your work. You need to put them together sort of scrapbook like...because they represent a condensed portion of your life.
I feel like I'm preaching to the choir here...I need to join you and do the same for the Holidays.
I'm in love with the sampler. Did you do it?
You are absolutely NOT crazy: these are all wonderful! I especially love the way the shadows stripe the eggs in company with the towel. Such harmony in that picture. Thank you.
Omigosh, what a beautiful collection of images! And that last photo -- of the sampler? the light is absolutely gorgeous in that! Good for you for sticking it out and taking a picture a day. Now you have a wonderful mosaic to remember autumn 2010. :)
i love that you participated in this..your images are just amazing!!
thank you for the sweet Thanksgiving message..to you and yours may it be a wonderful celebration!!
