What in the World?…

You know there has been too much rain when you find mushrooms hanging from the trees on your local walk…

…I haven’t tried to look these up yet but they sure look like upside down mushrooms…

They seemed to be only growing on the same type of tall shrub…but were very abundant…

I’m guessing it will be a good year for all types of fungi…

Fascinating - we've had a very wet July here in the UK too!

Oh, here, too! In fact, I just took some pictures of ours to post this weekend. They pop up so quickly don't they? Yours are wonderful!

It's been very wet all summer, seems every time I go somewhere this summer it's raining.

Nice 'shroom tour!

I've been taking lots of mushroom shots, too! I've never seen anything like those "tree" mushrooms, though. Any luck finding out what they are? Great pictures, as always!

We have a lot here too, although I have to admit I haven't seen any in trees!

Just when we think the sky cannot possibly hold any more water, down comes another storm! Those tree-bound fungi look so interesting, almost spooky. There's a bright, nearly fluorescent orange variety that has popped up behind a pine tree here. Any clue?

Tree mushrooms – I wonder if that would make a good soup? As I write this it is raining very hard – our storms are like tropical storms.

It's odd that the tree ones don't have any gills underneath. But then, I find most mushrooms fascinatingly odd. The white one that looks like an albino tulip is my personal fave. I love finding fairy rings in the yard.

a rambling rose - Thanks for visiting! Are you getting sick of it too?

willow - Your photos are beautiful...and they do grow faster than anything else I've seen...

MaggieGem - Looks like it is just as wet in NJ!...Thanks for stopping by:)

Gigi - I don't even know where to start on looking up those tree fungi...it is the weirdest thing though isn't it?

Tracey - I bet I find lots of mushrooms in Maine next week too:)

ds - I really know nothing about mushrooms and have often felt that I would like to take an identifying course on them...they are beautiful though...

Kamana - Still haven't gotten around to looking them up:)

Vagabond - I'm sure I wouldn't eat any of these! They look deadly to me!

Susan - I bet with no gills these really aren't mushrooms....

My, my you guys have really been having a lot of rain. I had mushrooms one day but they were gone the next. What kind of bush is your tree mushroom growth on? That may be the place to start when trying to identify the mystery growth.
