Maine 7...

Cadillac Mountain is well known for its beautiful sunrises...it is the first place on the eastern coast of the US to see the sun.  For me, however, it was much more reasonable to try and see some sunsets.  Sunset on the top of the mountain is a joyous event with lots of celebrants...

How lovely to be so rewarded after the climb. And to share it so you can all ooh and ahh together.
How was the climb back down, I wonder?!

Sunsets over water....there's nothing else like them, is there? Just beautiful, Oliag! Definitely worth the climb!

VioletSky and Susan - I wish I could admit to having climbed Cadillac Mountain in order to take theses pics but there is a very lovely, scenic road that goes right to the top parking lot:)

We were there for a sunrise, but the clouds ruined most of it! These pics are beautiful!

I always think that most sunsets are prettier than sunrises. Your photos are beautiful!

We were driving home yesterday from eastern Long Island and all the way home we saw a spectacular red sun slowly dipping down into the horizon. It took our breath away!
