Clam Cakes and Chowder...

It was a cloudy, chilly, windy, day at Galilee...

...a fishing village..
...with many seafood restaurants...

...you always know the fish is fresh...

...on nice days you can sit outside...

...but today was a day to stay inside...

...with hot soup.

Hi Oliag
Is it really called Galilee?
I thought you meant the other one til I saw the picture...
One of my sisters lives near Tiberias on the Galilee.

I love that chowder...

There's nothing better than eating lobster and clam chowder at a lobster shack right on the water. Now that's fresh!

Love the cloudy day pictures. They go well with the chowder.

hmmm chilly! I'd love one of those lobsters! Fresh fish is so good as is warming soup - it sounds like a good day!

Had it been a beautiful sunny day, that clam chowder wouldn't have been as inviting.

Delwyn - The village of Galilee in RI lies directly across a channel from the fishing village Jerusalem...really!

Susan - Just noticed that the chowder is the same color as the clouds! Thanks!

rambling rose - Thanks for stopping by! We are lucky to be living nearby a place like this...

Violet - True - hot soup was perfect right then..

Fresh fish. There was a time I wouldn't have dreamt of ordering it in a restaurant. Now, it's almost all I order. But we don't have the luxury of being by the sea, I would love that. There's something about a dreary day by the water and being in a little hole-in-the-wall eating joint that is very satisfying.

My favourite kind of day. Especially when chowder is involved!

Ruth - I usually order fish whenever I'm at a restaurant too...I love it and restaurants always get the best fish...
