Planning on participating with Christina of Soul Aperture in her celebration of simple things, I noted the simple things that I was grateful for from the time I woke this morning ...
- the cool side of the pillow
- seeing blue sky through the skylight
- a new warm green puffy down bathrobe
- old Ugg slippers
- the sound of a new toilet flushing so well:)
- listening to the news from a steamy shower
- Strong Colombian coffee
- eggs over easy with avocado on a toasted English muffin
- being at goal at a Weight Watchers meeting
- a cheerful checkout person at the grocery store
- my silver Subaru
- getting a clean bill of health at my annual physical
- having a good cry
- getting an H1N1 flu shot
- beautiful cut flowers in a white McCoy vase
- my new iphone in its pink and purple case
- Leonard Cohen on the car CD player
- browsing in a bookstore
- Better Homes and Garden magazine
- the many different shades of gray in January
- red wine
- baked potato chips
- broccoli rabe
- President Obama
- soft warm lap blankets
- a sleeping cat sharing a chair
A long list and this doesn't even include the people in my life...I am very fortunate indeed...
Christina and her family are planning on donating $1 to Doctors Without Borders for every blog that participates...

I'm up late writing tonight and decided to take a little break to visit a few blog friends. Oh, I am so glad I came to visit you! I love this list because I almost feel like I've just spent a day with you, or at least a good hour or so chatting about your day! This is so cool. I'd hang out and listen to Leonard Cohen with you anytime, my friend! xoxo Gigi

You had me at: the cool side of the pillow. :)
Your rich variety of the useful, beautiful, important and magical is uplifting to read... Thank you for sharing you many blessings with us. :o) ((HUGS))
May I just copy about 3/4 of your list? :)
I've subscribed to BHG magazine for probably 30 years. It is my favorite of all time. I have a hard time getting rid of them.
Wasn't the President's speech last night great?!! He didn't cut anyone any slack, including himself. That's what I love about him!
I like the sound of old ugg slippers and a cheerful checkout person. They always bring a smile to anyone's face.
Lovely list
What a great list and a great exercise in mindfulness. Love the pretty picture.

You made such a wonderful list Oliag, and most things I would say "ditto" to! No Uggs or I - phone for me, but yes to silver subaru, BHG magazine, sleeping cat sharing my chair! :-)
I search for the cool side of my pillow! And I also put my cut flowers in a matte white McCoy vase. Delightful list!
The cool side of the pillow is one of my most favorite things. Isn't this idea of Christina's such fun? I love how many of us are roaming the blogroads stopping to say hello here and there. So, hello to you. Happy almost-Friday.
Arrived here from Christina's. Joining others for 'the cool side of the pillow' and 'a cheerful checkout girl.' Loving your blog!
