On the holiday weekend, the state beach was full and cars were being turned away…but our little sailboat could easily take us to a quiet,  almost empty beach…where the sand was so hot our feet burned and the water was so cold our skin tingled…

Sailing back, Mrs R and I tried to remember the lyrics to “A Perfect Day”…because it was a perfect day.

 Lou Reed
Transformer (1972)
Perfect Day

Just a perfect day,
Drink Sangria in the park,
And then later, when it gets dark,
We go home.
Just a perfect day,
Feed animals in the zoo
Then later, a movie, too,
And then home.
Oh it's such a perfect day,
I'm glad I spent it with you.
Oh such a perfect day,
You just keep me hanging on,
You just keep me hanging on.
Just a perfect day,
Problems all left alone,
Weekenders on our own.
It's such fun.
Just a perfect day,
You made me forget myself.
I thought I was someone else,
Someone good.
Oh it's such a perfect day,
I'm glad I spent it with you.
Oh such a perfect day,
You just keep me hanging on,
You just keep me hanging on.
You're going to reap just what you sow,
You're going to reap just what you sow,
You're going to reap just what you sow,
You're going to reap just what you sow.

Your pictures say it all...it looks amazingly perfect! What a lovely, lovely beach.
I hadn't heard that Lou Reed song but I noticed it was from 1972 and I was buried under a world record snowfall at the edge of a glacier that year...with no radio...so it's not surprising I hadn't heard it!

Thanks for bringing me up to date! lol.
