I feel like I'm taking worse pics since I started photography class...maybe I'm trying too hard...This week's assignment is to take at least 20 pics within a 30 foot diameter using lots of angles and settings ...at least I had a good excuse to go to the beach today...

I like them....why don't you?
I tagged you over on my blog if you want to play along.
what don't you like about them? I particularly like the ones of the fence. What camera are you using? I'm a canon shooter. If I could make a suggestion (not that I'm an expert), but what apeture are you shooting? Are all the shots at the same apeture? I would stop down as far as I could on that fence line and blur some of the back ground to get a really dreamy effect. Hope you enjoy the suggestion and that I didn't overstep.
I think the light and the colors in these shots are gorgeous.
Oh, I think they're wonderful. Perhaps you are becoming more critical because of the class?
I love how you caught the sun's rays "picking up moisture" as my grandma would have said. That, it seems (and I am no photographer)would be a very difficult thing to do.
Ok, these are you getting worse? Good heavens, we are our own worst critics, aren't we? I find these wonderfully shot. Stay in that class. You're doing great!
I'm no professional either, but I think that they are good. I especially like the 2nd because of how the sun comes across the water and the color of the sand and rocks are great.
the fence is just so strong and curvy great shot there and what a backdrop ...the beach!
steviewren - thanks for tagging me! I will have fun doing the post but I don't think I know six bloggers to tag yet...
Char - I started this blog in hopes of improving my photography so I would love to receive any critique offered..Thanks! I guess what I dislike about these pics is the dull colors..I have yet to learn how to capture what I see with my eyes...I use a Canon G9...a point and shoot with bells and whistles and will have to look thru and see what apetures I used...
ds - I was trying hard to capture those sunrays "picking up moisture" (love that) and have discovered how difficult it is to do!
Country Girl - When my pics are a little closer to how good yours are I'll be happy! Thanks for your encouragement!
D.K. - Thanks! The second one is my favorite too...
Elk -You are right... All my pics could have been black and I still would have had a wonderful hour at the beach:)
I like all these photos! The beach can be so wonderful in winter.
I practiced with my new camera by taking those photos of the Brooklyn Heights Promenade and I was not happy with the results. They looked blurry and washed out to me. I feel like my little "Point and Shoot" camera would have done a better job. Maybe we are our own worst critics? I know I have to read more in my camera's manual and keep practicing.
I'm sorry to hear your kids may have to leave Brooklyn! I know so many people being laid off now --it's getting so bad. I get a little annoyed with all the talk about not helping "Wall Street," but what peole don't realize is there are a lot of little jobs and struggling people who are suffering in "Wall Street" too!
